ciecie koko (via keifu loves shoes) Whereas this is an old photo of me and brother in our uncle’s garden (this garden is now no more as the house was sold when my cousins were all in Australia - all but two of them are now married and living in their own houses)
I really should be thanking my mami for getting us such cute clothes. She has great taste in kids’ clothes, even when the only ‘branded’ kids apparel that existed back then was probably just Osh Kosh B’Gosh (which does not feature here).

Need to take a clear shot next time. Oh, got a trim at Hayato’s, the hairstylist has apparently styled a few of my friends as well. He buys Shonen Jump every week.

The lion, the fawn and the elephants

I know of

A lion, who really is

a nervous cub

And then a fawn

whose false detachment

belies her care

Both are happy

when the other is around

But the lion is timid

and the fawn is proud

to ever admit so

There is an elephant

A real star whom

everyone knows of

But has yet seen

up close

Maybe one day

The fawn might

meet him and

the lion will

take heart

The fawn knows

another elephant

Her strong mate

who takes the wheel

when it matters

Maybe one day

the lion might

meet her and

the fawn will

take note

But maybe one day

The lion and the fawn

will be honest

And take charge

like elephants would

And maybe that day

is the start of

happily ever after

For two hearts

meant to be.

To do

 • Poem - inspired by the show We Got Married, my personal observation, Doubutsu Uranai —> Done! :D
 • Drawing (“可遇不可求”) - inspired by the first kakko-kawaii boy I saw here, at Covent Garden yesterday —> to be done tonight (before I forget)!
 • Drawing (“Muse”) - inspired by the mop-haired schoolboy I saw (see previous post)
 • Drawing (“幸せな笑顔”) - inspired by the smile of a lady me and a friend saw on the tube two Christmases ago

Got a chance to take a photo with the current world #1 badminton player at the nia, Birmingham. More updates later, or maybe I’ll write more about it in wp.

Dream

I just had a weird dream, and in it, he was him and he wasn’t him. I was me and then it moved to a scene between two fictional characters. I wonder what the symbolism(s) meant.

I then had a dream of Doraemon’s magic tents, in the rain, which my brother set. One was a boys’ tent, a normal house, and the other was a girls’ tent, something which oscillates between a splendid castle and a run-down hut depending on the girl’s moods.

The 25

Since this has been circulating everywhere but I don’t feel like tagging people lest it becomes something like chain letters, here’s the random 25 about me.

1. I have a habit of wrapping my fingers (in alternate turns) around terry cloth ever since childhood. The cloth has to have a certain degree of stiffness in its texture so I can feel the existence of each woven thread on my skin.

2. I had maxillofacial surgery on my jaw to correct my wrong bite. This means I have titanium disc palettes fusing my jaw bones together and that I have to take care when doing strenuous or high-altitude activities.

3. One of the reasons I chose to learn Portuguese as a hobby instead of Spanish was a matter of the presence of the conjunction, y, in the latter. It looked like such an anomaly, I can never reconcile it with my love for logical order in the aesthetics of a language when it’s written.

4. I’m obsessed with trying to predict hidden meanings in every sign or symbolism I come across, even with ordinary objects like bus numbers. This manifests even more when I happen to notice coincidental or prophetic ‘messages’ as I try to interpret their significance.

5. I’m somewhat of a spelling and grammar nazi when it comes to the written word. I no longer feel the need to correct them at every instant, especially in casual communication, but I’ll still do so mentally.

6. Among my favourite vegetables is a very smelly bean called petai or sator beans. It causes your breath and excretions to smell like the famously smelly bean itself - and I always eat them in more than moderate quantities when they’re served in front of me.

7. I tend to admire people born in the year of the ox (not exclusively in the romantic sense) according to Chinese astrology. My own birth year actually clashes with the ox year in terms of compatibility but all the same, yeah.

8. I tend to do things based on spontaneity rather than detailed planning, resulting in many last-minute frantic SOS. Am trying to plan more effectively this year on.

9. Nine is my life number.

10. My favourite spacing out activity is staring out of the car window looking at the skies and scenery daydreaming on long road trips.

11. I don’t judge my friends if they do things which contradict my values, as long as it’s not criminal acts, but I hate it when they try to influence me into living life their way.

12. I’m self contradictory a lot of the time. This might be because that I’m a right-brained person, but only just. So my emotions always get mixed up with too much rationality and vice versa.

13. I’m really just a bimbo with a generous dose of selective curiosity. So when people say intellectual things about me, I wish they wouldn’t harp on it so much and kept my comments to a minimum, which results them in thinking that I’m ‘intellectual’ (because an empty can rings loudest, etc, etc). A vicious cycle.

14. I’m a certified direction idiot. This runs in the family’s girls.

15. I’m only ever observant when I turn on the observer switch. Other times, I’m super ignorant of my surroundings - so much so that I don’t notice acquaintances even when they’re within my field of vision. This results in people probably thinking that I’m ‘conveniently’ ignoring them, which is in fact not true - but it is convenient on my conscience when the people involved are those you want to avoid anyway.

16. I grew up drinking Chinese medicine so bitter drinks have nothing on me! I never add sugar to my coffee or tea and prefer it so.

17. I have a missing canine tooth due to a running-kid-knocks-onto-doorknob accident when I was about 3 years old. It took my mum years of patient massaging to push the tooth back to the gum area and finally a surgery (in conjunction with #2) to remove it.

18. I realize there aren’t so many random facts about me after all and that I might be either a) too boring, or b) too private to write anything more. It’s really the latter but all the same I can’t blame you if you think the former :P

19. Due to my upbringing, I’ve got quite a ‘tribal’ mentality - as in “there are Chinese Indonesians, and then there’s the rest of the world”. Ironically, I seldom hang out with Chinese Indons and my friends are mostly non-Indonesians. Despite me wanting to have more Chinese Indon friends, I always end up going to places where they don’t congregate.

20. I spend too much time on the internet and am trying to rectify this.

21. I’m glad that I’ve changed, mostly for the better (thankfully), over the years, especially with regard to my disposition. I know it’s not easy trying to stay positive all the time and it may seem delusional even - but I’m going to keep at improving myself henceforth.

22. I can touch my feet with my fingers without much effort and sit-and-reach is probably the only event in the physical fitness test repertoire that I excel in without much need of practice.

23. I need to read something while eating or the like almost all the time when I can help it - light reads like magazines, newspapers or fiction.

24. I love the number 24 out of narcissistic reasons.

25. I just completed my postgrad studies recently and need a good job asap! Need to earn and save ££££.
